Blogger's note

I believe that I hadn't posted anything for a long time and to be honest, I also feel upset because I could only give short reviews on my instagram account albeit I had made the drafts on paper. To be honest, I really enjoy writing these articles but I had been really busy with my studies lately which is why I didn't post anymore reviews after my article about Switzerland's entry.

Even though I had been inactive in writing articles in this blog, I need to tell you that I had made a blog with some amazing Eurovision fans and I would hope that you could check it out, the name is ESC Intercon and I had wrote a couple of preview articles there. By the way, this doesn't mean that I will stop writing here as I am going to do an overview of every country from my point of view and it will show the development about my opinions about the entry from the release of the song, the way the song has grown on me, the changes that happens, well everything until the results.

Switzerland sends The Last Of Our Kind and Rykka to Stockholm

Switzerland sends Rykka to Stockholm with the powerful entry titled 'The Last Of Our Kind' which was selected through their national final Eurosong Switzerland.

I had been in love with this entry from the start and I believe that Switzerland could qualify, as Rykka is amazing and she really unleashes the power of the song. The song may have a low tempo on the verse but it unleashes its power in the chorus and it is indeed the best part of this entry. I actually have high expectations for this entry and I really wish that Switzerland would qualify and get a good position which they deserve in the Grand Final and they deserve a good one.

Rykka's vocals are amazing and her astonishing song really blends in with her vocals, which gives pefection. The only enhancement needed is only with the staging in the Globen arena, so that it could easily blend in with the song and gives more interest to the audience albeit the current one is already amazing.

Overall, I would love to say that I rate this song a 10 at a scale of 10 and I waould like to wish a really good luck and all the best to Rykka who would be flying the Swiss flag in Stockholm!!!

Austria sends Zoe with Loin d'ici

France is no longer the only country to sing in French, as Austria sends Zoe with the song Loin D'Ici which means Far From Here.

On 13 February 2016, Austria selected their entry through their national final Wer singt für Österreich? in which 10 entries compete in order to get the golden ticket. Out of the 10, only two entries made it to the Super Final which is Zoe and Elly V with the song " I'll be around (Bounce)". Well, I actually wanted Elly to win instead of Zoe albeit I like both of their song but Elly's song really fits my taste.

Loin D'ici could be considered as a nice song, with a slow tempo, it is good song albeit I think that it is not powerful nor  strong enough to make it to the final. About Zoe, she has a cute face and a cute voice besides that, she reminds me of the Disney Princess, Aurora.

Well, I rate this song a 5 at a scale of 10 and goodluck in Stockholm Zoe!!!

Spain will Say Yay with Barei in Stockholm

The first song that will surely perform in the grand final is now revealed thanks to Spain, who sent Barei to Eurovision with the upbeat song 'Say Yay'. The song was chosen from Spain's national final 'Objectivo Eurovision'. This entry is actually the first Spanish entry, that does not contain any Spanish language which means that it is being sung in English.

The song might be another upbeat but I immediately loved it and this year, Spain has a really high potential to get a good place as this song is indeed a masterpiece and it is sung fully in English. Barei's vocals are also amazing and then when you add this with an amazing stage setting and performance, this song would indeed do an amazing job and go to the top 10.

In Objectivo Eurovision itself, Barei is one of my favorites along with Maria Isabel and Xuso, so I'm glad that my favorite could win again. Barei's performance was indeed energetic and her vocals were amazing, maybe Spain could go back to the top again this year with this entry as it is truly amazing. Well, I would give this song an 8 on the scale of 10 and I really hope that Spain could do well this year.

Overall, good luck to Barei who would be flying the Spanish flag to Stockholm with Say Yay!!!

"Come Together" to the 2016 Eurovision

The logo and slogan of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest

After months of waiting, the logo of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is already released along with the slogan. I must say that it was indeed worth the wait and the logo exceeded my expectations, the slogan still has the peace and unity concept but this one is delivered with different words and with a really catchy one.Well, for the past few years we have had amazing logos and SVT did a great job in making the one for the 2016 contest.

The logo has a galactic colour scheme which is indeed amazing and the globe, seems to represent the Sony Ericsson Globe that will be the venue for the 2016 Eurovision song contest. The stars in the globe, seems to represent the way people from different parts of Europe or the world to come together and be united through music. When we are united we could shine as bright as a star and give light to the dark, this really shows the power of music which could unite people with different beliefs or opinions. This actually brings Eurovision back to the reason on why it was made, as the biggest contest in the world had been uniting many people for the past six decades and now it is 61 years old already.

Many people, had came together through this contest and watching Eurovision is also something that could be done to unite people as people come together when they watch it albeit some of them might not like it at first but once you watch the whole thing you would end uo falling in love with the contest and you would not regret it. The contest was made to unite Europe but it turn out that, it did not just unite the continent but also the world and many human beings in the world.

Well, I just hope that Eurovision would stay the same and no more non-European related country would join as it is good the way it. Australia is fine but I hope that countries like Lichtenstein or Kosovo will debut and maybe Monaco, Andorra or Luxembourg could return to this wonderful contest. Albeit I come from Indonesia, I think that having an Indonesian performing in the contest is already a great thing and Eurovision should stay as it is, a contest done by European and European related countries with intercontinental fans. Maybe, if the non-European related countries want to join, they could send someone of their origin to join.

Ira Losco is back with "Chameleon" for Malta 2016

On 24 January 2015, Malta had finally selected their entry through the Maltese national selection, 'Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016' which is also known as the MESC. They sent the winner of their national selection, Ira Losco with her song Chameleon, which is indeed a wonderful and invincible song.

The name Ira Losco, is indeed a familiar name for the Eurovision fans as this Maltese beauty had represented the island country back in 2002 with the song '7th Wonder'. She was indeed a favorite back then and that is why, she succeed in giving this island country their one of their best results by securing the second place back then in Tallinn. When she joined the national final, she instantly became my favourite as her song stole my heart and her voice was indeed magnificent. The song itself is wonderful, as it becomes much more powerful as you go further with the song and it has a wonderful beat. Ira Losco's vocals are also amazing and she expresses the song really well in my opinion.

Overall, I rate this song an 8 out of 10 as it is indeed amazing and Ira's vocals makes the song sound much more better indeed. I guess that Malta has a really high chance to qaulify this year, as this song really fits for the grand final and it is still growing on me.

Will Ivan help Belarus fly to the grand final?

Belarus had sent their entry, which is a song titled "Help You Fly" sung by Alexander Ivan, which was chosen through their national selection. I must say that this song is just okay, as I do not find nothing special as it needs some improvements for it to be a decent song to qualify in my opinion. This year there wasn't much good songs which fits my complicated taste but I actually like this song and it has a high chance to grow on me, if there could be improvements in the performance.

I must say that the song actually started really well and in the chorus too, but the clarity of the verse needs to be improved. The chorus is good but in my opinion, the song is not that weak if the verse has a higher clarity and if the verse is more expressive. Ivan actually has a good voice but I guess that he needs to get rid of the nerves to help him fly to the grand final. I also had other favorites but this was in my fifth and my winner was Anastasia Malashkevich with Pray For Love.

Well, I would like to apologize if I sound negative but I am just stating my opinion and I am rating it a 5 out of 10 at the moment, but I hope that his vocals in Stockholm would be stronger and maybe this song could grow on me as I think that it has the potential to do so. Good Luck Alexander Ivan and we can't wait to see you in Stockholm!!!
